27 Mar The Rip
A new film on Netflix has finally brought Ben Affleck and Matt Damon back together on screen once more.
The Rip is the story of a police unit who discover a stash of millions of dollars belonging to a criminal gang and find that they can’t trust each other as they come under threat from other criminals who learn of the discovery.
Last year, composer Clinton Shorter (District 9, The Expanse, 2 Guns) approached me and asked if I’d like to provide some synth noises for his dark and tense score. I was more than happy to oblige, having enjoyed working with him before on a project. I set about making some suitably tense and grubby pulses, sequences and noises in both ZebraHZ and Diva; adding some useful grit and warmth for Clinton‘s score.
The resulting soundtrack is a really fantastic moody and adrenalin-pumping tour de force. I highly recommend seeking both it and the movie out.
