Welcome to Axia: the city that never arrived.
Its streets glow with fading neon. Its machines hum through layers of dust and static. Somewhere beneath the noise, fragments of forgotten futures still flicker to life.
Created for Baby Audio’s BA-1, this soundset captures that world through gritty basses, degraded leads, worn synths, melancholy textures and sequences; inspired by the more lo-fi and low poly corners of dark synthwave, cyberpunk and retro-futurist game soundtracks.
Drawing influence from artists such as Carpenter Brut, Waveshaper, scntfc, Disasterpeace and Makeup & Vanity Set, Axia indulges in imperfection at every turn. The result is a collection of 150 patches that feel weathered, human and alive. This retrofuturism delivers an uneasy, damaged nostalgia; one of shards of beauty in the decay.
Built for composers and producers telling stories washed in rain, concrete and neon.
BA-1 Axia is available for £19.99 +VAT, and is released as part of The Unfinished New Synth Summer.
