Forged from the original Kobalt programming sessions, Kobalt Fragments uncovers a new collection of alternate patch variations, unused material and rediscovered hybrid cinematic sounds for ZebraHZ.
Expanding upon Kobalt’s powerful combination of analogue grit, mutated instrumentation and atmospheric tension, these patches delve further into its darker and more textural side; featuring evolving pulses, ominous pads, distorted synths, rhythmic sequences and brooding cinematic sound design.
Some sounds revisit and reshape patches from the original release, whilst others capture entirely different creative directions explored during development. Kobalt Fragments offers a deeper journey into Kobalt’s intense and immersive sonic palette; refined, disturbing and unapologetically cinematic.
Inspiration for these soundsets include the modern sci-fi scores to Arrival, Annihilation, Devs and the recently expanded Star Wars, Alien and Predator universes.
Each patch features expressive modwheel design.
