What’s New in 2018?

The beginning of 2018 for The Unfinished looks very familiar to me, as it is in fact what was supposed to be the end of 2017!

A new baby and a dose of the flu combined to halt the release of Omnisphere Colossus III. But at least it means I can start 2018 with a bang. It’s a big collection of 400 patches, plus there’s a Deluxe version with a further 50 patches using the Bob Moog Tribute library soundsources.

I’ve been very busy with Omnisphere 2 during the tail end of 2017. This includes some bespoke work for a game soundtrack and also a French TV series. The result is that there are more Omnisphere soundsets ready to go than I can feasibly release in 2018, so I might have some fun with you guys and allow you to decide which ones I will release first!

Following on from Colossus III will be a big release for Zebra2 (and ZebraHZ) that I’ve been working on for a while now. In fact, it was something of a dream bespoke project for me. I’ll reveal more details nearer the time, but what I can tell you is that it will be a double release of sounds I created for one of my favourite TV series.

Beyond that, I have more releases for Zebra2 (as we patiently wait for Zebra3 to rear its awesome head) and also Diva lined up and ready to go, as well as the aforementioned Omnisphere libraries. Hopefully there will also be some noises for RePro1/5 and another soundset for Uno LX.

For me personally, I’m looking to write more music in 2018. There’s the possibility of both a game and film score to work on; we shall see… I’m not a big truster of project schedules! Haha. If either (or both) projects are delayed, I will almost certainly work on a personal album project or two. They’ll need some new sounds. Perhaps enough for some new releases?

If you have any thoughts or ideas of what you might like to seefrom The Unfinished in 2018 (or beyond), then feel free to comment here or get in touch. I’m always interested in what sounds people feel they need more of, or are missing altogether.

And should I build a time machine, or merely hermetically seal myself in my studio, perhaps I’ll do something about it!
